I have seen a God given dream

February 12, 2009

Have you ever had a conversation with someone who truly had a God- given dream? I recently spoke with someone who was ready to take on the dream God had given them, and run with it, no matter what the outcome. When you see this face to face, it is the most beautiful sight to behold. When you see such passion shine through a fellow believer without the slightest hint of uncertainty about where God is leading them, it reinstates what we as christians were called to do. We were called to serve the Lord, to be used for His purposes, and to put all of our trust in Him. This means no exceptions!

When He calls, you either run to Him or run from Him. He loves to see us run the race He has intended for our lives. The great thing about a God given dream is that it never dies. Even if you chose to run away from Him when He called, you can simply turn around and run back to Him. There shouldn’t be much backtracking. The thing is, we never really make it very far on our own.

When we walk in God’s will for our lives, He opens the doors. He has all the keys, all the back stage passes. God has the hook up! When we walk in the will we want for our lives, or what we think best fits our walk with God, than we spend much of our time pacing down the same hallway, trying to sneak a peak under the doors, wondering what’s on the other side. We never really put all of our trust in God.

Back to the conversation. There was no fear as this individual shared their dream with me. At least not the fear I would have imagined. I am sure there are questions, and they wish they knew the answers now, but they are trusting God with those answers. They are stepping out in faith. They are dream walkers.

Just thought I would start my blog off with a poem I wrote a few months back. Hope you enjoy and remember to fight the good fight my little crusaders for Christ. (by the title crusader I simply mean we should have the passion to serve the Lord like that of a 11th-13th century crusader without the whole waging war in the name of religion incident)

Passion + Understanding = Good

Passion + Confusion= whoops! did we really do that?    but it can also equal a terrible 4 hour mini-series like that of NBC’s the Last Templar… did anything good come from that war?

Oh, sorry. My first blog and I am already rambling.

This poem was written in response to a conversation I had with an individual concerning their current personal battle, their frustration and the question that followed ,” Will I ever win this battle”? -

The Battle

The lights fade to black and darkness becomes your home

The music stops and silence overcomes

And all the while you try and try to run

run from your mind, run from your heart,

Run from the demons that never stop

But do not submit to their devilish ploys

For out of your battle comes wisdom and joys

It is when you stop to fight that the demons have won

It is when you stop to fight that all hope is gone
